Bastille Day: Fireworks Display 2013 PARIS, FRANCE

Bastille Day, July 14th, was particularly wonderful this year, falling on a sunny warm Sunday. Of course because a Sunday holiday doesn't earn the following day off, some French felt a little cheated. The parade, pageantry and fireworks more than made up for it all.

Not having been there myself, suffering to be in New York, I watched it on BFM-TV while talking with Eff as she watched from our twelfth story terrace which faces the Eiffel Tower.

I found this clip; stellar in its imagery, appropriate in its music an so worth sharing with the rest of us who were somewhere else!!

The Wheel Which Started it All

The famous Ferris Wheel stays charmingly at the Place de la Concorde for three months during winter. Then disappears.

The sole reason for it's removal is that it disturbs the perspective fashioned by the Axe Historique.

Attempting to understand the elements which constitute the Historical Axis was the beginning element in uncovering the intense charm that's Paris!
