When considering the perfect places to dine inexpensively in Paris, you cannot do better than to solicit the counsel of Alain Ducasse.

The Times did exactly that. Needless to say, I was pleased to find that through the improbable magic of six degrees (I haven't actually identified the stages) Mr. Ducasse agrees with me that Le Petit Vendome on 8 rue des Capucines produces the perfect sandwich.

"One Exquisite Night in Paris" relates, a bit tongue in cheek, our first experience stumbling into Le Petite Vendome and why it's become our official lunch spot whenever mid-day catches us on that side of town.

Now too we have a whole list of other suggestions to sample; excellent food without the flash and dash and price, thanks to The Times.
